How to Set Up VPS For MT4

What is a Virtual Private Server (VPS)?

A VPS is a remote server where you can set your trading strategies to run automatically without any effort from you. Here is a guide on setting it up.

Step 1: Register with a broker that supports MT4

Some forex brokers do not support trading on MT4 platform. Do some research and make sure that you sign up with a broker that supports MT4 or you can consider using AxiTrader for a reliable forex trading experience.

Step 2: Register an MQL5 account

There are many ways to set up a VPS but, in this case, the most reliable way would be to use MQL5 for the quickest execution time with minimal delay. Set up an account here.

Step 3: Register a Virtual Server (through your MT4)

You will have to log in to your MQL5 account through MT4 and select your preferred subscription period. If you are having trouble with finding the link, you can try following this.

Step 4: Get Your Charts in Order

When you sync your strategies to the server, the system will copy everything that you have opened in your MT4 terminal. It is important to remove any charts that you do not want to be synced to the server. For charts that you are going to sync to the server, ensure that the experts have already been attached to the chart and it is in the right timeframe.

Step 5: Upload your strategies to the server

Once all is ready, click on synchronize experts, indicators, and signals.
